2 Part Lesson — Marcelo explains the importance behind the ability to find security and keep safe after sweeping an opponent: [I] For example, if your sweep your opponent back from X-Guard, when you rise up to establish the top position, you must avoid getting swept back immediately and also avoid any submission attempts. This translates to hiding your feet from attack and stabilizing from inside Guard, or gaining Double Under Control for a Stacking Pass. [II] Another quite common scenario, is when you stand up with your opponent's leg hoisted up on your shoulder from the X-Guard; if he dives underneath you, sprawl him flat and establish, or if he jumps for a Triangle, block his legs from fulling locking around your head and arm.
