Breaking The Closed Guard
2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo teaches how to apply a Standing Guard Break against the Closed Guard: If your opponent tries to hang onto you while you stand up to break open his or her Closed Guard, push them back and dedicate both of your hands to pushing the pants. If they sit back up, shove them back down. [03:33] Lean back when your opponent falls back down, otherwise you will get pulled forwards and possibly fall to your knees. Protect your arms when you establish a grip on the pants; hide your elbows while you pry open the legs.
