Marcelo reviews his students' tournament performance: Whether your win or lose, you should do your best to continue training the very next day after a competition. Doing so will allow you to sharpen successful skills and/or work on fixing mistakes while they are still fresh in your mind. Create positive memories that you can carry forward with you on your journey of improving your jiu-jitsu. Before a match, you can challenge yourself by selecting a singular technique that you wish to implement as a part of your initial game. Work on building small or specific goals for yourself to execute while out on the mat during a match. Focus on creating the conditions that will set a path towards successfully pulling off your technical ideas, manifesting an positional advancement, or achieving an advantage/points/tap-out.
