Marcelo speaks on stylizing one's offensive and defensive measures: Figuring out how you should approach which moves to connect together in forming one's own game may prove challenging; it is recommended that you find a balance between exploratory attacks and adaptive counterattacks. When you start a sparring session, have in mind a specific plan that you wish to employ during each roll. Don't leave things to random chance or the whims of your opponent's aggression. However, if things don't go your way immediately, make sure your reactions are on point and you aren't getting yourself too far in the weeds against their advancing pressure. If you find yourself in a bad spot, take note of how and why you might have fallen prey to those attacks and look to work on them in your next roll so you can fix them without delay.
