Specific-Training: 2-In /1-Out with Dominant Control Restarts
Marcelo constructs timed rounds of situational training: Forming groups of three people, two of the participants will begin sparring for four minutes while the remaining partner stands outside to monitor their roll for potential collisions from neighboring groups. Ten seconds prior to the timer's bell sounding the end of their four-minute roll, the third person left out has choice over which partner to attack by surprise and how specifically to begin the next round. They must choose a dominant position, so no guard-pulling, and they cannot start by applying a flying or diving submission attempt. When the timer calls for a new swap, the partner that has completed two consecutive rounds becomes the person standing out to supervise, while the partner who swapped in previously stays for their second round under attack. Once the order is set, the cycle continues such that no partner does more than two rolls in a row.
